Eurogerm

A winning partnership

The relationship with our suppliers can be described as a win-win partnership focussed on four strategic priorities:

  • Optimise our supply chain and have a better economic performance.
  • Direct our sourcing towards innovative products in order to enlarge our product offering and propose to our customers technological, sensory and nutritional solutions, to fulfil their specific needs.
  • Build understanding of our raw materials so that we minimise the associated hazards and can assure our customers of supply or usage of the ingredients we control.
  • Improve the CSR performance of our key raw materials thus allowing our customers to show their commitment in favour of economically, socially and ecologically responsible products.

A strong relationship

Listing

To assure conformity, quality and safety of our products, we select out suppliers with the greatest care, using well-defined criteria regarding their capacity to produce and deliver products that meet our specifications in terms of reliability, uniformity, responsiveness, sustainability, performance, innovation…

Control

A detailed control plan is activated at each raw materials delivery. These controls are carried out within the framework of our monitoring plans, allowing us to check conformity of the delivery and to validate the product technological and sanitary characteristics.

An annual rating lets us measure the quality of the amount delivered globally and define improvement targets for the following year.

Responsible purchasing

We give priority to suppliers who are committed to a CSR approach and to listing products that are produced sustainably. The Group equally involves and commits its suppliers and partners to themselves respect Human and Workers rights.

The specifications given to our suppliers contains since 2014 a specific point on Social Responsibility. Within this contractual document, EUROGERM asks its suppliers to commit to:

  • Respecting national and international regulations, laws and conventions and particularly those relating to forced labour and child labour.
  • Banning all discrimination in the workplace (whether race, nationality, sex, religion, disability…)
  • Recognising the right of all employees to establish a policy of dialogue and consultation between management and staff.
  • Guaranteeing a healthy and safe working environment, promoting hygiene, health and safety for all employees.

From an environmental point of view, the selection of our suppliers takes into account how far away they are located from the production sites in order to reduce the carbon impact of our supplies.

As regards transport, the technical agreements passed to our hauliers includes a special point concerning Social Responsibility. By approving this agreement, the hauliers commit to developing or to be using more environmentally friendly methods, codes of conduct or technologies, and those that generate less greenhouse gas.
